What Is The Service Cost For The Honda B17?

Oil Filter Replacement & Brake Inspections Cost (B)

There is no free lunch, as we all know. The reality is that everything in today’s world costs money.

Approximately $100 to $200 will be spent on services under B part. There may be a variation in this price based on the mechanic’s services.

Tire Rotation And Inspections Cost (1)

The cost of rotating tires and inspecting them ranges from $20 to $40. However, it’s a good idea to keep some extra cash in case of surprises.

Brake Fluid Replacement Cost (1)

It is estimated that the cost of service 1, also known as brake fluid change, will range from $90 to $200. You can also take oil yourself at that price, and mechanics charge for new fluid oil and flushing the system.

These costs may not be exact, but are close to accurate and are likely the same for all Honda models, including the Civic, Accord, Clarity, and Type-R.

Explanation Of Included Items In B17 Service

In my experience, it is important to provide more information about the service. During that segment, we’ll discuss the included tasks in B17 maintenance in more detail.

Explanation Of Included Items In B17 Service

Oil Filter Replacing Procedure & Steps

A few steps are involved in replacing the oil filter. When the mechanic raised the hood and placed the hood arm, he pushed the latch to the right side under the front center of the hood.

As soon as the car is raised with the jack, he puts the jackstand under it as a safety precaution. To drain the oil completely, he loosened the drain plug and placed an oil pan underneath.

With the help of a filter wrench, he turn the oil filter clockwise and loses it. His next step was to remove the old filter and replace it with a new one, making sure it was as tight as possible with only his hands (about 10 FT-LBS).

Parking Brakes & Front Brakes Adjustment

Using a factory jack stand, the mechanic raised the car and removed all the wheels. He then adjusted the parking brake, cable, and rear brake after removing the rubber plug.

A final adjustment of the foot brake was made after he completed these steps. After releasing and decreasing the foot brake and hand brake, he checked for binding and locking.

When all the improvements were complete, he drove your vehicle to see if everything worked properly.

Tire Rotations Procedure (1 Sub-Code)

The code specifies that tires should be rotated and inspected as part of Specific 1. During this procedure, service providers rotate tires and inspect each tire for damage and cuts in order to ensure that repairs are made in a timely manner.

Brake Fluid Changing Series Of Steps (7 Sub-Code)

Hygroscopic brake fluid absorbs moisture and water from the air. The 7 in B17 Service indicates that brake fluid must be replaced on the vehicle.

The average service range for that service is 45000 miles or 3 to 4 years. Alternatively, you can consult a service supplier about replacing the fluid every year.

Fluid plays a crucial role in the brake system’s operation. Fluid also communicates brake pedal pressure to stop the vehicle in a productive manner.

Hence, maintaining the brake system’s performance requires regular fluid changes. These services were easy for me to do in my time.
